Individual Psychotherapy

Therapy is a powerful opportunity — a second chance to move beyond what has felt impossible or held you back.  It’s a path of healing, growth, and reconnection with the real you, your true self.

And it’s being with someone who is empathic, non-judgemental, and compassionate, where you feel safe to explore the patterns, experiences, and vulnerabilities that shaped your life and sense of self — and where you feel seen, understood, and accepted.

That’s what our therapy together makes possible.

I know how much courage it takes to reach out and taking this step is an act of strength.  It can bring great relief from struggling alone.

Together we will go at a pace that feels right to you—-to gradually shift the beliefs and patterns that are holding you back and to build the awareness, self-esteem, and resilience that help move you forward to create meaningful change.

Healing And Trauma

Do you often think “I have to handle everything on my own, if I ask for help I’ll feel like I’m failing. I keep thinking everything has to be perfect.”?

Do you tell yourself,  “I’m selfish wanting time for myself, it means I’m weak, my needs don’t matter anyway”?

Are you often questioning yourself, struggling with self-doubt, putting things off, or harshly criticizing yourself?

If any of these thoughts or feelings resonate, know that they aren’t the truth— they echo the fear and ingrained beliefs formed from childhood trauma.

Whether emotional, sexual, and/or physical abuse, or emotional neglect, or any other painful experience, that childhood trauma shaped how you see yourself and move through the world.

In order to protect yourself from any threat of danger, terror, or fear, you learned how to avoid closeness yet maintain relationships—perhaps by pleasing people, overworking, numbing yourself, fight, flight, freeze, shutting down, or hypervigilance.  These self- protective survival strategies were necessary, they kept you safe.

But you were left feeling disconnected and alone.

And as an adult you hold yourself back.

Our work together helps you to move forward in your life because you are now in a relationship where you feel consistently safe and trusting—at your pace, we can gently explore those protective walls that no longer serve you, process your painful past wounds and memories that are creating havoc in your life, AND make the space to allow your own voice, your feelings, needs, and values to emerge and strengthen.

You gradually integrate new understanding, strategies, and practical tools that help create clarity and build confidence. You start to challenge old limiting beliefs and become more aware of what you want and begin to feel empowered to take action.

Our work together can help you:

  • Heal the wounds, painful patterns of childhood trauma including anxieties and depression
  • Develop an internal sense of safety, feeling steady and self-trusting
  • Identify and understand your triggers, separate your past from present experiences
  • Identify and express your needs and blocked emotions, regulating and self-soothing them
  • Rebuild your self-esteem, restore self-worth, replace self-criticisms and self-blame with self-compassion
  • Set healthy boundaries and strengthen your relationships
  • No longer feel responsible for others, make time for self-care
  • Let go of perfectionism and procrastination, learn to get unstuck
  • Become empowered to choose the life you want

Anxiety

Do you experience:

  • General or social anxiety
  • Complex trauma-related anxiety
  • Panic or health anxiety
  • Relationship anxiety or fear of separation

Anxiety is common—but it doesn’t have to run your life.

When the world  feels unsafe, your mind and body react with survival strategies—hypervigilance, over-thinking, catastrophic thinking, physical symptoms, numbing, perfectionism, fight or flight, excessive worry—all in an effort to stay protected and hold the self together.

Over time living in an anxious state becomes exhausting, interfering  with your daily life, relationships, and your ability to feel present.

Trusting yourself and connecting with your emotions and body can feel impossible.

Since many anxious reactions are linked to past wounds—abuse, emotional neglect and instability—it’s important to identify and heal those wounds linked to the anxiety.

That is key to regaining a sense of calm, feeling grounded and reclaiming your true self.

Anxiety isn’t a sign that something is wrong with you—it is a sign of unhealed fear and pain.

In a safe and compassionate space together we will work to:

  • Identify and understand your anxiety and its triggers
  • Explore the connection between your anxiety and past wounds
  • Release patterns of chronic worry and self-doubt
  • Shift from fear-based reactions to reactions from a grounded state
  • Develop tools for emotional regulation and self-soothing
  • Build self-trust, confidence, and reconnect with your body and sense of safet
Anxiety is not a permanent state.

Therapy can help — you don’t have to do it alone.

Depression

Depression isn’t just sadness — it’s often a protective response to unbearable, unhealed pain from the past.

For many, depression is rooted in childhood trauma, emotional neglect — past experiences that left you feeling unseen and unheard. Over time you may have learned to shut down to survive, leaving you numb, isolated, and disconnected from yourself.

Feeling helpless and hopeless you take on a heavy silence, exhausted, empty, overwhelmed, and weighed down by shame.

You may feel as if nothing will ever change — but that is far from the truth. Therapy offers a path back to yourself.

Healing is possible.

Our work together will begin by creating emotional safety and a trusting connection where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

At your pace, we will:

  • Explore the present and past roots of your depression and its effects on your daily life
  • Uncover and process emotions and memories in a supportive space
  • Shift self-blame and self-criticism into self-compassion and acceptance
  • Help you reconnect with your body and explore various lifestyle supports
  • Strengthen your sense of self and help improve your relationships

Move beyond survival.   Discover your true self and Live the life you want.
